While looking through family photos, have you ever noticed that perhaps all the men or all the women share a specific trait as they age? For instance, many people develop deep vertical lines between their eyebrows or fine lines at the corner of their eyes. While these kinds of distinct traits are often cherished and admired, if you are concerned about hopping on the family trait bandwagon too early, then prejuvenation might be something you would be interested in.
As we know, rejuvenation is a way to treat and correct the visible signs of aging. Prejuvenation is a way to prevent those signs from appearing. Because it is much easier to slow down rapid muscle movement when you are younger and before the signs of aging are already present, prejuvenation is a great idea for anyone looking to prevent those wrinkles that you know you are likely to inherit due to genetics.
How does the prejuvenation process work?
It is actually very simple and does not differ much from a regular Botox treatment. Typically, when one gets Botox®, it is easy for the person administering the treatment to see which areas the client is concerned with. However, since a person seeking prejuveation might not yet be showing those signs of aging, it is smart to bring a family photo that highlights the areas needing focus. During a consultation here at Advanced Electrolysis, our Nurse Practitioner will look at the areas you are concerned about, as well as a photo if you are able to bring one and will administer the Botox to the desired areas.
When should you start prejuvenation?
Prejuvenation works best before the deep lines and wrinkles have formed. Though most men and women do not yet have these signs of aging in their twenties, the late twenties are a great time to start the prejuvenation process. Because there are likely very few wrinkles, if any, already developed, one to three treatments a year is all that is necessary.
Do not worry, though! Prejuvenation is not just for those in their early twenties. Men and women in their 30’s and 40’s are still great candidates. Botox will help make the skin taut and appear more youthful. However, because some lines may have already appeared, we recommend a visit every three to six months.
